Dealing with career setbacks.

Dealing with career setbacks.

It's not easy to deal with career setbacks, or indeed any kind of setback, but here are four little tips that will help you to refocus on what you are going towards instead of floundering around and becoming depressed about what you are going through.

1: don't keep retelling your bad experience to everyone you meet.
2: don't keep the bad experience alive by constantly thinking about it: find a distraction.
3: critically, find someone who encourages you to think positively about the future.
4: if you haven't got a mentor who can help with the first three - get one!
